Through the study of ear training, students learn to assimilate and effectively apply the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structures they are hearing for purposes of developing competent composing, arranging, transcription and reading skills. Focusing on sight singing, interval and chord quality recognition, and a thorough analysis of rhythm and meter, ear training is essential to any developing musician.
